Menuhin’s Violin
An installation by Heidi Hinder and Richard Barnard
4 July – 25 August at Dartington Hall

Imagine yourself inside Yehudi Menuhin’s violin. Peer into the interior of the instrument as it resonates with memories of the music it has played, the places it has travelled, and the people who continue to be affected by its owner’s legacy.

Composer Richard Barnard and artist Heidi Hinder have created an installation, taking inspiration from interviews with Menuhin’s daughter Zamira Menuhin Benthall, the extensive Foyle Menuhin Archive at the Royal Academy of Music and the workshops they have hosted in schools across Devon.

Opening times:
Monday-Friday 9am-5pm; Saturday-Sunday 12pm-5pm

4-28 July – The Summer House, The Great Lawn

29 July-25 August – The Garden Room Gallery, Space Studios
